Hotaru is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the area! What I love about Hotaru is that you can get a variety of types of food there--bento boxes, sushi, noodles, and rice dishes. I really enjoy getting their Udon Special (#1), which allows you to get udon or soba, California rolls or some other type of sushi, a salad, and one other item (such as mackerel, chicken teriyaki, pork cutlet, or croquete). The price is decent, esp. for lunch. Biggest downside: there is usually a long wait on weekend nights.

Have eaten here many times and always had good food and friendly service. A bit noisy and crowded as to ambience, but keep going back because food is good and service is quick.
