Yikes.... We were headed for a special night out & decided to try Gus's for dinner. Terrible mistake. The food was horrible... the portions tiny, the prime rib was leathery and SEARED on one side (HUH?!) and the ONE PIECE walleye "dinner" was a frozen piece of flavorless fish with a dollop of rice pilaf. $18.99... REALLY? I sent back my fish, she offered me another choice... I chose the perch. I received 4 things that looked like oversized fish sticks. I took 2 bites, as did my fiance, and I sent that back as well. After a few bites of the horrible prime rib, he sent back the meat as well. We were dumbfounded, neither of us had ever sent back whole meals due to poor quality. I had a glass of water, he had a soda. We were hit with a bill for $28.00 and change.... and we left starving & out $30.00.
We decided it was a mistake not to have asked for the owner, so we called. He was rude on the phone, asking WHY we didn't ask for him, so we turned around and went back to talk to him. He told us his food was fine, and that he would buy us a drink. We had no intentions of drinking, and told him we didn't want a drink... so he told us "take a piece of baklava and GO". When we said the food was unedible, and that we had never sent back food at a restaurant, he laughed and called us "Professionals." I was speechless. Now I was being called a liar.
This was the single worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I have been telling friends of our experience, and over & over again I'm hearing very similar stories. I will NEVER walk through those doors again. POOR quality, POOR service, RUDE owner. DATED and dank decor. NEVER again......
