I've been eating at Gumbahs since they opened in the mid 1980's. This is awesome food. Buddy the owener does a great job with the resturant. Unfortunately I now live over an hour away so visits are more rare than I would like. The beef sandwich must be tried and bring an appitite!

I was there when they opened-I taught at Mare Island Navy Base. Last year I flew thru Chicago and the Italian Beef there isn't as close to real as Buddy's. A great sandwich, a unique product-I even try to make it at home, St Marys Georgia but it doesn't come close-does he ship at all?

We have been going there for at least 18 years? Today we even made a special trip there for lunch. My husband is from Chicago, so he knows what a real chicago dog, gyro, ect should taste like. Buddy, the owner and his staff are always friendly and funny. They make you fee very welcome.
There is always something fun and interesting to look at while you eat. Buddy is an artist, he has a lot of his carvings for sale.
There are exceptionally good.

anytime i do a job with-in 10 miles of gumbahs we have to go to gumbahs for a sandwich, there italian beef is excellent, their chicken cheese steak sandwichs are the best along with everything else in the restaurant. remember that buddys (the owner) brother is on the emeril show quite a bit and eats there also.
