DW's Diner

DW's is a place where when you enter you might think that there is a minimum age of 55 to enter and they do tend to cater to seniors who are a large part of their clientele, after all, they're in an older neighborhood, off the beaten path so you go for where the money is and in this area it's seniors. Occasionally here too, like so many places you feel like a second-class citizen if you sit at the counter. Sometimes the service is better at the tables than the counter. Don't understand why but it seems common with so many restaurants today.

However, it's also a clean and nice place. The wait staff are generally all very pleasant, do a good to excellent job of refilling coffee, though I would prefer a carafe on the table. Food is good with decent portions at a good value price. Soups/chili are a bit high, coffee is less than most places, they give you water and refill it. They also have a punchcard deal where you get a free meal after paying for 10 so that increases the value for regular customers.

Lots of windows give nice bright daylight and it's also well-lit at night. Normally they have an unusually high number of servers compared to most places. They genuinely seem to want to have happy customers. Seems like most people there are regulars which isn't surprising since this is off the beaten path. They have daily specials and senior portions for them too. Summer hours are until 8pm and winter until 7pm. If I recall they open at 7am or 8am.

I am an old customer of their's and they have great!! food. And lots of it. Reasonably priced.
