Hartford offers plenty of art and history

Visiting Hartford is an experience in American history and culture. This capital of Connecticut was founded in 1625, making it one of New England's oldest cities. This city has an unwavering dedication to the arts. Nearly 200 organizations have pledged to promote and nurture cultural, heritage, and arts activities, which makes Hartford a major attraction for anyone looking to share their talents or simply enjoy those of others. Also inspiring this creative flavor is the area's many scenic rivers, waterways, and parks. If you're passionate about all kinds of history, then immerse yourself in New England's past by spending your day at one of the area's diverse museums. Enjoy historic watches and clocks at the American Clock & Watch Museum in nearby Bristol. Or how about exploring the early days of electronic communication, including radios, Morse code, and television, at the Vintage Radio & Communications Museum of Connecticut? Visit Hartford's oldest surviving house, the Butler-McCook House & Garden that was built in 1782 and is now home to the Main Street History Center. The Connecticut Trolley Museum lets visitors enjoy New England history while riding on a restored trolley. Then there's the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, which was established in 1842 and is America's oldest public art museum. Experience literary history at the Harriett Beecher Stowe Center, named after the author of "Uncle Tom's Cabin," or the Mark Twain House & Museum. The scenic beauty of the area should be viewed from Travelers Tower, a 34-story, 527-foot observation deck that's open from May-October. For more outdoor enjoyment, try the nature trails and arboretum at the Dinosaur State Park.

Good comfort food in large portions. Veal dish was very good but the shrimp dish seemed a bit overdone. Sausage and peppers were fine. Service was attentive, prompt, and pleasant.
Ordered veal Parm very bland no flavor. The appetizer (escargot) much better than meals.
