Growing up in the wholesale meat business and at one point in my like working in a meat market, I have acquired a skillful eye for the quality meats and provisions. My ancestry is polish and German so when I entered Adolf’s for the first time and smelled the aromas of the smoked meat products I had flash backs of my grandfather bringing me as a child to butcher shops in New York. I have to say that the quality at Adolf’s is by far the best I have ever experienced. I recommend anyone who wants quality variety and authentic European smoked meats and authentic groceries from Europe to visit this store. I must warn you! Your will be spoiled and have difficulty purchasing meat products from anywhere else. They just won’t compare!

We travel from Upstate NY to visit Adolph's for their out of this world smoked Sausages and meats. The neighborhood's a littel rough, but we brave it to get the BEST kilbasi in the northeast. The ladies behind the counter are a little ethnic and its kind of neat to hear them bantering with each other and customers in their native tongue (or other foreign languagues) bit they have their regulars and you just have to be patient and ready with your order. A must visit (and Grill their product) for anyone in Hartford.

It is a shame I nolonger live in the South End of Hartford because I can't shop at Adlof's as much as I used to. I have shopped their for 20 years and received the best quality food. My personal favorites are the smoked garlic keilbasa, special easter keilbasa, and at Christmas their Swwedish Korv is to die for. I was vey concerned when they had their fire a few years back but was more than relieved they rebuilt better than ever. The service has always been great and contained a smile every time. THIS IS A MUST SHOP!!!

Good comfort food in large portions. Veal dish was very good but the shrimp dish seemed a bit overdone. Sausage and peppers were fine. Service was attentive, prompt, and pleasant.

I've been here three times and all three times were bad. The service is horrendous. Salmon was dry and overcooked. Mixed drinks are undrinkable. The ambience is okay except for the other diners who are low class. I will
