Pasadena Restaurant Guide

The food was GREAT and the drinks as well my waiter was a doll only problem was the HOST wasn't to nice , after being seated i asked the waiter for the host name and she replied Roxy she has RED AND BLACK HAIR AND was very rude as if she didn't want to deal with anymore customers and had a rude attitude.

I love going to Don Keys often..the food is good.The donka ritas will kick your ---!!!
The only trouble I have are with rude bartenders..The night time spanish chunky girl is very rude..they fire her for being rude and rehire her again..Its like a unpleasant surprize ever time i see her...besides that i would go again and again...I suggest calling ahead to see if shes bartending...

I have eaten at this restaurant since college in the mid 80's. I moved near San Antonio, and when I would visit Pasadena I would ALWAYS come back to Don'Key! It is by far the best Mexican food there is. I crave it sometimes, and have to go have it. As far as the comment regardin a roach in the restaurant...I have been t o many fine dining restaurants and have seen a roach. But I have not seen it at Don'key, nor would it necessarily scare me off. The food is great, service is great, my kids love it, I love it...you need to try it!

This restaurant is GREAT!!!We go here all the time. It is very authentic and has the best mexican food in town!! Especially their fajitas.

The donkey is a great resturant with authentic mexican food. And don't miss out on the awesome donkaritas they will kick your but. I saw mentioned on another review that they saw a roach at the donkey this may be true but not because it's dirty because it's located in the woods and in texas we have huge tree roachs

Our friends took my husband and I to eat there for the 1st time and we loved their food and their service was very good it was a little cold in there but as far as the service and food it was very good...i would recommend it to my friends and family and we will be returning

Great AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Have it your way--modifications to the menu are accepted. Large portions. Very moderate prices. Funky kind of place--uneven floor, building has been added on more than once--just like a restaruant in old Mexico.

To the person on Oct 10 from Houston, I say you haven't been there enough!!! Read the reviews on Tripadvisor. I agree with them. My husband and I have been going with another couple to Donkey's now for probably 15 years or more, EVERY FRIDAY night practically and we've never seen a roach or had a problem at all. Dorian or his sister, Lucy are great waiters/waitresses except Dorian is now a bartender. We have always LOVED THIS PLACE and I look forward to every Friday night. The margaritas have always been GREAT! I say you need to give it another chance! KG

There was a nasty smell when we entered the restaurant..I could see the kitchen from where I was sitting and the guy in the kitchen smelled the tortillas twice like something was wrong with them..then he had someone else smell them..the beans tasted like they were very old and tasted bad..but the very worst was a roach fell on my boyfriend from the ceiling..and ran across the floor after he got it off and up the wall and ceiling by another couple..that girl ran and was saying that happened to her the last time she was there..we will NEVER go back there again and we are telling everyone we know about this..
