Don't let the outside facade fool you, Dan's is a wonderful resturant. Step inside, and ask to see the "special" menu, pull up a chair to the bar, relax in the biliards area or lounge in one of the luxurious booths. Dickey and the staff are always friendly, and while there tends to be a crowd on weekend nights, the food definitely makes up for it.
I have never had a bad experience with anything on the menu -- but the foie gras is simply amazing.
Dan's has a full bar, but while the atmospere is very laid back, you might feel out of place without a jacket and tie.
