I went there this weekend trying to enjoy the gorgeous Saturday. The restaurant was packed. I was worried that I might not find a seat. However, to my surprise the I was seated quickly by nice waiter. The food was great. I started with a order of Samosa. They were mouth watering. I ordered the chicken shish kabob. What an experience. I loved it. I have to agree I got it was a great bargain. I had a 3 course meal for less then $20 dollar. I was so full that I had to take the rest home. I even enjoyed the left over. In the end, I have to give this fine restaurant two thumbs up. I wish I had my friends with me so that they too could have enjoyed a beautiful day accompanied by great and delicious food, served by wonderful and friendly waiters. I will definitely be here again, and cannot wait till I share this experience again with my friends.

It's the worse restaurant experience ever. I think things have changed since the last review on this restaurant. We went there with kid and sat outside for 10-15 minutes waiting for someone to greet us or at least bring the menu. Finally, a waiter co ...

The location's great for non-drivers. Though there are 3 Indian restaurants on the same block, this one has the best service, and the friendliest staff. For ambiance, I like the subdued and unusual blue lighting. Foodwise, their masala dosa, dal, ...

I don't know if I had different experience than other Indian/South Asians, because when I went there yesterday, I was treated great. The service was friendly. My food was fine and good. I don't know if I did not have any problem because I did not complain at all, like we all desi (south asian) tend to do, and at the end we leave no tip. I can't complain because I worked on restaurants before and I never had good experience with majority of south asians (though some were great) and always had the same problem even though I worked hard to make sure that I give them a great service. That's why, I will ask not to pay attention to complains on ANY restaurant that south asians are not treated well because, I am ashamed to say that we South Asians demand the service staff to only service us when we eat, and leave no tip in return. As for Little India, I have to say I had a good time, and cannot complain about not treating me well because I am South Asian.

The food is okay, not great. The Rogan ghosh (?) a mutton curry dish my friend ordered was watery and full of coloring, and not a careful blend of Indian spices as it should be. The restaurant does claim to sell "home-cooking"; my friend is from India, and she was appalled. Also, the owners are nice and over-friendly to Whites, but treat their own kind, especially women, with cold aloofness. Bad idea for any restaurant. My boyfriend enjoyed his non-vegetarian combo meal, the portions were generous. I ordered a mixed appetizer of meat and vegetarian finger-food. It filled the stomach because the meat was heavy going. Hardly flavorsome.

If you are an Indian, you won't care for this place. The food is mediocre at best and the service is ok, but not that accommodating. The sweet lassi tasted like they just spooned 100 tbsp of sugar into it and when we asked them if we could switch them for less sweet ones, they told us that sweet lassi was suppose to be sweet! There at MUCH better indian venues in DC.

If like just to chill and happy hours or want to celebrate another day of your life, just go to Little India. They offer mango margarita to burgendy and other beers at a very affordable price. The price cannot get better than what you will find here. Moreover, if you are students or senior citizens you're gonna love this. You'll get 10% discount on entrees. My favorite items here are chicken tikka masala and lamb karahi. What I like most about here is that they leave the spice level of the food upto me instead of deciding it themselves. I know I will go there more often, not only for their food, but because they care about me.
