Dec 31, 2008. We had eaten lunch here previously and had a reasonably good experience. Heard owner/manager on radio saying they were having a $10.00 prime rib dinner special for New Year's Eve.

We arrived early, just after 5:00 p.m. and waited to be seated. We were greeted and seated fairly quickly and that is where the good service ended. When our waitress arrived (she was hyper, fidgetey, could not seem to smile and very impatient) she informed us that they had a prime rib special for $11.00. I mentioned that on the radio they said $10. She informed me that was the price before tax. Strike One. The sales tax is 6%, the price with tax should be $10.60, not $11.

The dinner was to include soup or salad, prime rib with choice of potato, and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. I had the soup and my wife had the salad. No complaints about the salad, the soup was tasty but served barely lukewarm. Next, our entrees were delivered before we had managed 3 or 4 bites of our soup/salad. Strike Two. I had mashed potatoes. Again, nice garlic flavor but room temp. The plate was cold, the au jus was not hot and the meat room temp and a bit small. The smallest prime rib on the menu is 12 oz. but it turns out the “special” is 8 oz. I asked for horseradish. It was delivered after I was two-thirds of the way through my meat. Strike three.

Once we finished our entrees we waited for what seemed like an eternity but was probably closer to ten minutes before our waitress arrives to request our choice of ice cream which we give her. After that, every four or five minutes, while passing by our table, the waitress would assure us that she hadn’t forgotten us and would be right back with our desserts. A few minutes after the last such statement I left cash on the table and we left. I feared dying of old age had we chosen to wait for both the dessert and then the check. Strike Four, we're out of here.

Lest you think I am being too hard let me assure you that there was plenty of wait staff for the number of occupied tables. Clearly the kitchen was able to put the food out too fast, so I have to believe that with a bit of care they could have served food at appropriate temperatures on properly warmed serving dishes with appropriate timing.

Though some of the other wait staff appeared to be more pleasant than ours, they were no more efficient.

Let’s review;
Mis leading advertising
They can’t do math
Bad Service, apparently throughout
Food was okay, but cold, certainly nothing to tempt me to return.

Not the greatest Chinese place in town... OK service, food didn't seem as fresh as other places in town. Not a horrible experience, but there are better places within a few blocks
