“Applebee’s”, a restaurant I once loved. So much in fact, it was a Thursday night ritual for my husband and I for quite some time. Of course, like many other things, Cheyenne just has a way of not caring about service, quality of food, or any “extras” for its customers in their Applebee’s.
As soon as my husband and I walked in the door at Applebee’s we were reminded of why we haven’t been there in such an awfully long time. So let’s take a dive into the service. The service was imedeitly horrible. I think that any restaurant, weather fast food or a din-in chain should show much respect for its customers in any situation. “Just two?” asked the hostess after a silent stare for a good two or three seconds. She then seated us and walked away, without anymore said. No, “enjoy your meal,” or “your server will be right with you”. It just gets worse as our meal goes on. I guess wait staff think we look too young to tip well, (which we always do if service is up to par) so they just try to rush us off.
If you are someone who goes out to dinner often, you know the meaning of “complimentary”. Something that Applebee’s does not offer any of. For those of you who don’t know what I am talking about, I mean some rolls, breadsticks, or even some chips and dip on the house to hold costumers over until they receive their entrée. I feel that sense I am spending a lot of money on my food and drink that I should get some bread or rolls while I wait. Just about every other restaurant I have been to offers something. Olive Garden: breadsticks, Texas Roadhouse: rolls with cinnamon butter, Red Lobster: cheddar cheese biscuits, Outback Steakhouse: sweet bread with butter, and Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant: tortilla chips and salsa. You see, Applebee’s is one of few restaurants that don’t offer anything for free while you wait for your meal.
