Chiangmai

The food is not the best. I had gotten the Thai basil fried rice with shrimp. Their fried rice is like from a Chinese food restaurant with a bit of sweetness and spicyness to it. I've had Thai basil fried rice elsewhere and it does not come this way. It was made bad too. The string beans were cut unevenly with the ends included in my dish and I had crunch chunks of rice. Horrible!

On top of the horrible food, wait staff are not friendly. We got our seat and were immediately told that the kitchen was closing in ten minutes so we had to hurry up and order. Then I requested for Sriracha sauce and was given regular hot sauce. It was watery and tasted like regular hot sauce. I explained to the waitress that this was not Sriracha but they explained to me that it was the "Thai" sriracha sauce. They attempted to give me the same sauce but added something sweet to it and claimed that this was sriracha sauce.

I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

You HAVE to try this place! It's a very small, crowded place stuck in the middle of a little strip mall, and we happened upon it accidentally. We didn't have reservations, but I'm happy to say they had a table available. My recommendation is to definitely make reservations. It seems as if you're elbow to elbow with the next table, but the food was out of this world!! This is a bring your own bottle place, so do not expect cocktails or beer; simply juices, coffees and teas. But you definitely have to try it! I give it two thumbs up!
