I'm pretty sure this other diner fellow made up a story about Cheddar's, and no, I'm not an employee. I am a fan of Cheddar's though, and for good reason. They provide excellent food, equivalent to that of Applebee's but for an even lower price, and the service is great. Every place has a bad server once, but of the many times I've dined there, I haven't been served poorly once. Good, quick service, and it's a very cool atmosphere as well. I recommend the either choice of the ribs, and the desserts are unique and very tasty- try the cookie monster, it's amazing. The lack of cleanliness must be a myth, because I haven't ever sat at a dirty table or been served dirt-speckled water before. Good luck controlling screaming kids that aren't yours. If you have a voice, why not try using it to ask to be placed somewhere a bit quieter? I can guarantee you that Cheddar's will not kick out paying customers, regardless of their unruly children.

If I could give this restaurant less than one star I would. Cleaniness was not there number one concept. My friend and I were seated next to screaming kids and had to spend part of the time blocking our ears. When I finally got my drink (water) after waiting for 20 minutes - there was dirt floating in it. My order was to have been catfish I got shrimp. Since this was my first trip to the restaurant it will be my last and if you want really slow service ask for Staci.

the food is great the hosts are lazy and the wait staff always wants to leave earily but its the best place to eat in the des moines area!
