Being French, we found the cakes as good as they are in French bakeries.
A part of France in New Hope with this strange feeling as if we were traveling in France when entering this friendly bakery.
With these good "viennoiseries", a quick service and a lovely view on the Delaware river, it was a good moment.

My husband and I stopped in yesterday for just a cup of coffee- until we saw the beautiful pastries in the display which tempted us to try some..I swear I thought I was back in Paris!!
We both had a wonderful brioche; mine was plain, and my husband choose one filled with cheese.
Yes, the cheese filling was too sweet for me, but he loved it. The dough was perfect, nice and moist without being overly heavy or sweet.
We sat outside overlooking the tranquil river, perfectly happy to experience such a pleasant moment in time.

The food was fair although the pizza was pretty good. I couldn't get past the dirty bathroom however. In my opinion, not worth visiting.

Was just in there today, the overweight woman serving was unhappy to take a gift certificate. She then says it doesn't cover the cost. I work in wholesaling, we had 2 pizzas and 2 drinks. Net cost to them 4.75, and not lets not forget the kickback of ...

This used to be a favorite place of mine, but the food is no longer good and the service worst. I don't think I will be going back anytime soon.

We went to C'est la vie today.

We bought several items and this is what we found:

Croissant were NOT laminated properly...dough was tough...tough...tough...and where's the butter???

Pain Au Chocolat was filled with little chocolate morsels of cheap chocolate instead of good quality batons...again...the dough was awful.

The almond croissant was like very bad candy! The almond filling was hard and full of sugar.

The apple tarte was heavily slathered apple slices over bad apple sauce on a dough that was not cooked...yuk!

On to the cookies...sweet was not the word...couldn't eat them! And I'll bet they were days old.

We had a cake that just didn't work. The butter cream topping was hard and sweet, followed by the mocha filling "mousse"...that really wasn't, the the dough was literally raw.

The mocha cake was even worse.

I'm thinking the winter is not time to visit C'est la vie, or the other reviewers never had good, French pastry.

And...I'm not the hard one to please...SHE is!

Sorry kids!
