Boston Restaurant Guide

DO NOT TRUST THIS RESTAURANT! They advertised a 4 course pri fixe menu for New Year's Eve. We made reservations WEEKS in advance. We called a cab to take us there for our 7:30 reservation and there was a sign on the door saying "Closed due to water damage." NO PHONE CALL or posting on their website alerting customers to this at all on New Year's Eve. Obviously there were no other places to go that were not already full! DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! They are inconsiderate and frankly, not worth it. There are plenty of other reputable restaurants in Boston who do know the proper way to alert diners to a cancellation. BE WARNED!
Cons: DO NOT EAT HERE - CLOSED ON NEW YEARS AND NEVER CALLED DINERS WITH RESERVATIONS!!

There aren't too many places around Boston that have authentic Mexican cuisine. Casa Romero offers an alternative to the chain Tex-Mex places.
Romero's has real tamales and real homemade sala and tortillas. And the restaurant's atmoshphere is the coziest, most intimate, I've ever experienced - very romantic.
The menu is a little pricy, most people aren't used to paying $16.00 an entree for Mexican food - but that's probably a function of other Mexican places being so cheap as opposed to Romero's being overpriced. Every meal is of gourmet quality, and includes exotic ingredients such as cactus pad and cocoa.

Romero's also has the best Sangria I've ever had, aside from my own that I make at home. Go try this place. It might be a little hard to find. The main evtrance is actually in a tiny little alley off Gloucester Street. It's under L'Espalier and is very close to Kashmir and Hynes Convention Center.
