Blue Canyon is a great place for a meal right in the heart of historic downtown Golden. I like the laid back, casual atmosphere. They have great sweet potato fries -unlike any I've ever tried... and yummy fish tacos too. I would absolutely recommend BlueCanyon to anyone.

I went to lunch today with 5 of my coworkers. Although the 10-year old that greeted us at the door was cute, it left me immediately questioning the quality of the place. I felt a little better when we saw him behind the bar. Serving drinks, perhaps? At least the Olympics were on TV (go US men's polo team!), being that it took a good 45 minutes for our food to arrive after we ordered. Now that lunch break was essentially over, we could finally begin eating! Except poor Margaret, who had to make an additional request for her food. And poor Jeremy, who, upon taking a bite of his burger, noticed they put blue cheese instead of ranch on it. We asked our young server to fetch the manager, and WaitZilla arrived soonafter. Requesting to have the item removed from the bill, a "Well did you eat it?" was snapped back. "No... I took one bite and just sent it back with our server." A new bill came, alas, with no changes. So a (new) new bill was requested. This time the bunked burger was removed, however, the mandatory (but far from earned) 20% tip was still included. The food was decent, but not spectacular. The experience did provide some good team-building and unifying opportunities. Perhaps we will go back for training... just not for lunch.
