I've grown up sampling pit beef from all over the U.S. I like a good barbecue, ribs are always a treat, pulled pork the same. But a good pit beef sandwich, I mean, one that makes you drool just thinking about it, isn't always easy to find. I rarely repeat meals at restaurants, but Beef Shakes keeps me coming back.

I decided to look on this website and I was hesitant to try this little place but we had a ball there. It was a cold yucky night and we didn't feel like cooking and boy are we glad we didn't. This is my favorite place around....great food, clean as can be, friendly, and no fuss. I saw lots of military guys coming in and out, a few business folks in suits , and a bunch of families. We tried the ribs, a cup of homemade crab soup, a grilled chicken & shrimp caesar salad, and the best milkshake I've had in 20 years with whipped cream! The kids that own it are great to talk to and the little place has 50's music and you can't help but tap your toes!

This is not fine dining. This is a great find. First of all it's very clean. You come into a very cool little 50's style help yourself friendly neighborhood joint that has 50's music playing. The menu is very large but nicely thought out. Something for all the masses. We asked what the specialty was and they said good homemade food. I had the soup of the day which was outstanding. We ordered ribs, crabcake platter, and a greek salad. The people with us got a texas burger, cheesesteak, and fresh cut fries. We all sampled and enjoyed it so much. The fun part about going there is you have to get your own drink and they all you and you pick up your food. I asked them if they bring you your food and they said no you you help yourself. The girl was so sweet and nice. On our way out we bought a gift certificate and our friends are having them cater their christmas party.
