I went to Amante's alone last night and was welcomed like a long lost friend. I sat at the bar which was unique in itself with it's turquoise bar top and decorative long horns. Nothing cliche about this Italian restaurant. The bartender, Blair was knowledgeable in both wine and food pairings so I took his suggestion and ordered the savory (roasted pepper) cheesecake (which had a mouse consistency) with seared shrimp to start. I have never tasted anything quite as impressive. I then went on to have the homemade veal tortoloni. Another hit! All the while I left it up to Blair to pour whatever wine he thought might compliment the dish. He would give me tastes of what was available so I was assured of a great combination. I finished things off with their homemade NY style cheesecake, which was the best I have ever had. Not only did I have a fantastic dinner but I was kept thoroughly entertained..I had a great time. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. casey
