I have eaten at Alioto's for many years the service is usually slow to extra slow, occasionally you get lucky and you get a little faster service. The fishfry is usually good. The only other thing I will order is the hamburger, which was usualiy good, but the last time I had it it was I don't know what. They need more help. The only reason I go is because of family members wanting to go there. They keep having the steak which is usually tough . I hope I never get dragged back there again. To slow to get food to slow for service

We were the last to arrive to a large group. Ordered the perch Friday fish fry including fries, cole slaw, bread, and lemon; sounded great. The fish and fries arrived almost instantaneously. And nothing more. No bread, no slaw, no lemon. Ate the fish anyway, which was OK sans lemon. Wanted to ask the waitress for our entire order, but.... you guessed it.... no service. She only appeared to clear our plates without asking if all was OK, or if we wanted dessert, or a refill of my soda.

My custom in this situation, which has occurred 3 times before in my life, is to leave a 2-cent tip (1 cent could be a mistake; no tip might be Alzheimer's) but of course the tip was built into the bill for the whole table.

I felt compelled to complain at the front desk, and got a fairly defensive response. I was told the dinner was "family style" with shared slaw and bread; I had noticed an empty dish further down the table, apparently for the slaw. This wasn't on the menu, and my ESP was out of tune, so I was unaware of where to look for the other meal components. I was offered a fairly cold offer of a refund, which I refused. If I'd been thinking fast enough, I would have demanded a take-out order of slaw and bread, at least completing the order I'd paid for, and a $2 refund of the mandatory tip. Oh, and 2 pennies to the waitress.

Mama Mia- What i can say about the food is that, it was from about 1980 until 1986 the best in the midwest. dont you Joanne B, and Joanne F, Orlin, JOJO, Tony, Alan, and yes, "Danny", all agree. 2009 it is still the best.

I usually don’t take to the time to comment on service, but in this case I decided to take a stand. My family and I have gone to Fish Frys in Wisconsin ritually from as long as I can remember. It has turned into a warm tradition. So, we decided to try this restaurant tonight. We are very friendly people, who usually (even if we have bad service) will tip well. The service was bad from the hostess getting worse onto the waitress. I have worked many jobs like this myself, and even on my busy nights, never acted as arrogant as this women. Please you are not doing us a favor by just being there. The only part good to the night was the bartender, who got a lot of money from us, because we waited soooooo long to be seated. All I have to say, if you would like bad service, with an OK meal try this restaurant. There are so many other options out there, with much better food. Unless you are going for just a drink, forget it.

We went there the other night for dinner. Everything was wonderful. The service in the bar was great and the drinks were reasonably price. They had a nice selection of jazz playing on the stereo. The dining room could use so mild updating, but was very clean. The hostess was pleasant and seated us promptly. Food came fast and was delicious. Probably the best Lake Perch fish fry I have ever had. A very generous portion. I had a piece of my wife's steak and it was great. We live in the area, and will definitely be back often. I can’t wait to try their Italian food. The bar looks like a great place to take the guys after work for a cocktail, or a drink after a movie date with the wife.
