I've been going to this Mexican restaurant for over 15 years and I don't know what the person who went to the El Charro is talking about! I tried them a couple of years ago and didn't like the food and the service was TERIIBLE! I actually live out of state and always frequent "The Alamo" everytime I'm in the Orlando area. Yes that's right after I get off my flight from Texas, I get in my rental car and head down for the best MEXICAN food ever. Being from Texas and close to the border I have great great food here, but The Alamo takes the cake! I love the fact that the owners come by and mingle with their customers which is really nice. I always order a diet coke and then a HUGE Top Shelf margarita, along with Combination #1 or Chile verde con Carne with a beer is to die for! The salsa and chips are AWESOME too! So take it from somebody who knows Mexican food and tell them you want to try what the "Texan" always has, you'll LOVE IT!

I live right down the street from this place and go there all the time. It looks like a run down (almost) dump from the outside, but I intentionally look for those kind of places...they usually have the BEST food. This place is no exception. I get great service every time I go there, and suggest it to anybody.

I don't know what happened with the other reviewer. We live in Melbourne and have been to both El Charro and the Alamo.

Our service everytime has been great and the food has been wonderful. Much better than El Charro!

The owner is always there to take care of the customers.

On out second visit our waiter wasn't satisfied with the margarita (too much ice) and he took it back and brought another with more margarita without us even saying anything.

We have always gotten our food quickly, except if we were with a large group.

It is the oldest Mexican restaurant in Brevard county Florida.

The previous reviewer must have gone on a bad night. Sometimes everyone has a bad night. I suggest yout try it again.

We love it and go almost every week.

I've only eaten out 2 times for mexican and both times were within a week of each other. the experience here was down right awful!!! The restaurant inside is pretty nice. We were greeted quickly and given our menus and drinks fairly quick. I ordered the same exact item i did at the previous restaurant( El Charro in cocoa, fl) which was 2 beef burritos with refried beans and spanish rice. Took about 20 minutes to get the meal out to us..Our drinks were already down to half when our food was served. We both noticed that the food was very bland, had no flavor compared to the same meal at el charros. About 5 minutes later we needed refills on our beverages. We were passed by at least 6-7 times by our server who never once stopped by to ask how everything was and if we needed any refills. Another 5 minutes passed by and we couldnt even finish our meals because of having nothing to drink. Finally some other server stopped to ask if we wanted refills which at that point we were so disgusted that we asked for boxes to take our food home which was about half the meal. And of course out the the thin air comes our actual server asking if we wanted our check. Still no refills on our drinks. Then we get to the cashier to cash out and noticed on our bill the server was trying to cahrge us $9 for 2 diet cokes and the menu said $1.75. So that took another 5 minutes to resolve. So after that whole experience we will only be eating mexican at one restaurant in the vera/cocoa area and that's elcharros in cocoa. The food had flavor, service was exceptional(we were visited at least 4 times while we were eating by our server and drinks were refilled without asking). Now thats service. And the bill was less and the food was delicious. Take my advice and do not go to the alamo restaurant in rockledge. I did the whole read reviews online thing before we went and ignored other reviews and what resulted was close to what other reviews had mentioned.
