Uh, the other reviews are obviously all from employees. This place has gone down hill consistently over the past 30 years. It is mediocre at best, but your only choice in Coral Gables, so gobble gobble!!!

I been dinning here for over 30 years service food has always been good.

This is the first time I ordered Chinese, first time in my life and I loved the Fried Rice (now I know what the big deal is about). The Lady on the phone was kind and professional. The Delivery man well-spoken and it arrived fast. Very nice experience, thank you!

My husband and I are very picky about finding a good restaurant, especially one with Chinese and sushi both. This one has both and everything we get there is always fantastic and the service is great! We eat there at least once a week.

I ordered the honey wings and they tasted like fish. I don't know if there is fish sauce present or if they fry the wings in oil that they fry fish in, but it was not a pleasant flavor with honey. The wings are dry and tough and you have to fight to chew the meat off the bone. I couldn't eat them. And I was disappointed in the quality of the rest of the food I ordered compared to the last time. The lettuce was rotten and the lo mein sauce was super runny and too fishy. I won't eat their food again.

Classic, can't go wrong, value and taste! We always order from here and they are quick to boot.

I just ordered the honey chicken for delivery. I have done so since 1999. To my surprise it was like eating rubber. Dry as could be and they did not send enough sauce to soak it in. The rice was good. I called and not even an attempt to make it right by the woamn who ansered the phone. Bad customer service and really bad chicken.

Go here if you want uninspired, dull Chinese America (that is more American then Chinese) food. It is cheaper to go to Publix and buy canned Chung King Chinese food and you get the same quality as here. This place should have closed down years ago.

Got to tell you. Have been going here for over 20 years but the experience I had last Saturday was terrible. Food was just BAD. Cold, maybe re-heated. Made me sick. Very surprised after all this time. I really don't feel like going back.

We have patronized this restaurant for years always to our utmost satisfaction. Recently, however, we were very displeased with our take out order. Despite spending nearly $120 for a few items, we were shocked at the reduced size of the take-out portions, including steamed white rice. The meat dishes looked like one serving had been divided into two; and we were charged for two. The steamed rice boxes were half empty. The honey chicken, which had been a family favorite, was all breading, with a morsel of chicken, and half the quantity. The pepper steak was missing any ingredient similar to steak and should have been called peppers and onions. The chicken lo mein mein was minus chicken; and adding insult to injury, there were no noodles or fortune cookies. Even the soy sauce packets were skimpy. Upon calling the restaurant to complain, we were unabashedly told that they had cut down their take-out portion sizes, including for steamed rice; eliminated the noodles and fortune cookies from take-out; and yes, they knew we were paying full price. They made no apologies nor did they try to correct the situation, even after we'd let them know that we'd had to spend an additional $40 to order more Chinese food from another restaurant to feed our guests. I've since learned others have had similar experiences with an equal lack of response from the restaurant's management. We've crossed the Canton off our favorite restaurant list and substituted it with a new favorite, the Oriental!

Absolutely delicious!

Canton Steak is awesome! Only disappointment is the "pot stickers" have changed in the past few months. They used to be handmade & incredible, now they taste like frozen, out of a bag & are the worst ever! Huge disappointment!!!

No big deal, I've had better in the Gables. Didn't blow my mind.

Great Chineese food in the heart of the Gables, Canton-style! Interestingly, the sushi and sahimi is also quite good, in that the restaurant is owned or operated by Sushi Maki. In sum, fantastic!

We came on vacation during this Thanksgiving to this place to see if it was as good as people say it was and if it was good as their Dade location I ate at 28 yrs ago (You can't forget a 2 lb steak cooked to perfection and tender as steaks costing twice as much). We we impressed with the quality of the food and service. We had the 2 lb NY Strip, Cantonese Lobster, Sit fired Tofu,Honey Chicken, and steamed Chinese Broccoli. Everything was outstanding and as good as the quality of Chinese restaurants I've eaten in N.Y., Toronto, and Hong Kong. These folks take their customer service seriously and I highly recommend them to any travelers in the area.
A diner from Miami, FL Apr 18, 2008
Just try it if you are in the area and want good food. I usually have the steak (of which I can't eat all of its like a couple of pounds of top sirloin) The wife always orders lobster and the kids honey chicken. Oh yea they are also a chineese and sushi restaurant as well as our last party caterers.

Canton is a great value. The food is always consistent and delicious. They provide great service, and the portions are substantial.
They are open late, and we often even order it for pick up to eat at home. Great Gables find!

You can count on this place to have fresh sushi! I come here often with co-workers because you get a good tasting lunch that won't leave you hungry.
A diner from Miami, FL Sep 18, 1999
The thought of Chinese and Japanese food in the same restaurant is genius. I can eat Sushi while my spouse eats Seafood Pan-Fried Noodles and the kids eat Honey Chicken, what a treat. The food is exceptional and the price leaves my wallet smiling. This place is top-notch in value and variety. I like it!!!
A diner from Coral Gables, FL Sep 17, 1999
I always enjoy dining here because I consistently get GOOD food. Their food portions are the biggest in town! Did I
also mention that their quality control is excellent... food is always FRESH. This is a restaurant I don't hesitate to
recommend to all my co-workers.
