The restaurant use to be known for great service however the steady flow of business has caused them to forget about the basics of customer service. The longtime employees are pleasant and well informed. However the newer employees obviously show favorites. I hate it when someone walks up speakin...
Great Food and Great Prices what more do you need
You definitely need to be in the know to get the best at this restaurant. First off you are given regular tea if you don't know how to ask for the good stuff. Also the Dim Sum was very good on most items. Some where just excellent while others were mediocre. The Pan Fried Turnip cake is a must t...
Fran Obrien equalled my lifetime top two eating experiences. My menu was crab cake appetizer (best in DC), rib eye (melted in my mouth), creamed spinach and Key lime pie (homemade). Service was professional, friendly and continuous without being obtrusive. The restaurant has class and true American...

I have only gone on thursday for happy hour. The jazz band is excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful.
HAL Does Good...This is one of the places in the world that I can just sit down and tell the wait staff feed me ...IT is all good! A visit to DC is not complete without a stop here. Tell em Bigjohn told you that! The only problem that I have with this place is that the kitchen closes at 10 pm a...

The quaint old time feel of this restaurant added to the enjoyable, pleasant experience we had here. The staff was personable and fun. Even the jocular manager added to our experience by captivating us with his humor. The food was great and I found the prices surprisingly unbelievable for a resta...
About the only good aspect of the evening was that we were seated within a half an hour. The bar tender gave me trouble about having the appetizers delivered to the dining table. The soft shell crab should have been called "hard shelled, chewy crab". Our waiter disappeared and so in order to send t...

I just recently got my heart broken. I live in MD and and found myself once again doing the single thing. One of my friends was telling me of this great after work happy hour spot that I HAD to try. I went there had a great time, listened to great music/danced. Also met my current boyfriend. So t...
I am a veteran and am glad to hear about the dinners for the returning wounded vets. All vets (past and present) have sacrificed to provide us with our free and prosperous society and deserve our respect and gratitude.

Thank You Mr Obrien for the service you are giving to our country by your kindness. On 1/29/04 I saw a story on Fox News about how your streak house opens the doors to servicemen, women and familys once a week that are in Walter Reed Hospital. God Bless You Sir!
Simply, the best steak house in Washington, maybe in the world. The steaks, the ambience, the service, the dedicated owner, everything is A plus plus plus. Do yourself a favor. If you want the best dining experience possible...have at least one meal at Fran Obriens. Oh, and by the way, Fran Obrie...
I must qualify firstly that my experience there is around 9PM so the bakery items I had was not the best but still was good comparing it to what we have in North Carolina. I would like to go back and dine in to try there other menu items. The staff there was friendly and eager to help.

The Oval Room is located steps from the White House in NW, DC. It's convenient to the Farragut West and North Metro stops. Because of its location, one can expect to see many famous faces at lunch, but reserve in advance. Dinner reservations are much easier to come by. The atmosphere here is c...
Food is good. Mac and cheese not baked long enough. Good fried fish; baked chicken. Good quantity for your money. Will feed two or last two days for one.
Find Tony & Joes a bit inconsistant. During the week the pace is slower and the service good. Weekends see tourists and it's a mad rush. Good raw bar and great outdoor bar in the summer. Cream of crab has a bit too much thickener.
