We recently passed through Castle Rock on our way to Colo Springs to find a place for dinner. The old Victorian home caught our eye and we decided to stop and look at a menu. We were not sure we were dressed right for the atmosphere, but the hostess assured us we were fine and offered the back outdoor garden for dining if we would be more comfortable. To our surprise around the back of the building is one of the most beautiful dining patios we've encounterd in Colorado. We requested a seat by a brook and knew we had picked the right place immediately. Our waiter Cameron was an absolute delight! He suggested the Lamb and the Ahi Tuna and to our surprise the food was perfectly prepared and delicious. I also had escargot which can be difficult to find and my husband had a caesar salad. We shared a bread pudding at Cameron's suggestion and thought we had hit the jackpot. I wish we could have had more time to sit and enjoy a bottle of wine, but we had a ways to drive. This place was such an unexpected find in Castle Rock. We will always stop when traveling to and from the Springs. We give the Augustine Grill an A+ all the way around!

We had a terrible experience with our family at Augustine’s Grill. The waiter was totally rude. Outside in there patio area it smelled like garbage. The hostess area is a tiny little 2x2 space and it takes 20-30 minutes to get seated. The food is way over priced and not very good. I think the owner thinks way too highly of his place as we complained and he said “ We are very busy we must be doing something right”. Does he not realize how limited the choices are in Castle Rock? When we actually get some decent restaurants trust me the place will be dead. Don’t go there it is a waste of money! The owner and wait staff are sub-par.

This restaurant discriminates against families with young children. I went there for lunch on 8/23/07 with my 2 kids and a friend w/ her daughter. We sat outside and were waiting for our lunches. (the kids had already split a $7 bowl of macaroni and cheese.) I overheard our waiter and the owner talking about our children. They said "We should hang a sign on the door stating 'NO KIDS ALLOWED". And "Look at table 11, there are 3 kids out there, making a mess and running all over the place" (which they were not)
I approached the owner and asked if he had a problem with my children and he coldly stated "not yet". He said something to the effect that how dare we bring our children into his restaurant. We immediatly left. I have never been so offended and hurt.

It's a fabulous, sweet place to dine indoors with a Shabby-chic decor or outside on their lovely patio decorated with beautiful flowers. Delicious food too. My favorite restaurant in Castle Rock!
