Restaurant Description

Mike Anderson's Seafood Restaurant serves delicious South Louisiana Seafood in a casual, friendly atmosphere to local New Orleanians and visitors from all over the world. We use the freshest jumbo lump crabmeat, gulf shrimp, pond-raised catfish, salty oysters and spillway crawfish available. The atmosphere is casual, the service is friendly and the decor is nautical with beautiful saltwater aquariums.

Our Bourbon street restaurant is located in a two hundred-year old building in the heart of the historic French Quarter, and is open for lunch and dinner daily, seven days a week. Lunch specials are available each weekday from 11:30 am til 2:00 pm, and cold salty oysters on the half-shell are just 25 cents at the bar Monday through Thursday, 11:30 am until 6:00 pm. Enjoy one of our several satiating local brews -- Dixie, Abita Amber, and Turbodog!

After hearing so many good things about this restaurant while visiting Baton Rouge, my wife and I were really expecting a treat!

Unfortunately most of the people who recommended Mike Anderson's must have not eaten there lately.

We were very disappointed with virtually the entire dining experience. My wife's entree was overcooked and my entree was cold. Also, eat a snack before you go because the food takes forever to arrive.

Finally, the service was poor and unattentive.

We have been happy patrons of Mike Anderson's for years. What is going on? We took out of state visitors to dinner Friday, fully expecting the one hour wait, but promising them it would be well worth it. We didn't really expect the one hour wait AFTER ordering, but it would've been more acceptable if our server had swung by the table from time to time to refill our drinks. The food arrived cold, overcooked in some cases, and sparse compared to the past. The server wouldn't even check with the kitchen to request subbing boiled shrimp for popcorn shrimp on a child's plate. We were very disappointed, but didn't dare complain and have to wait another hour. We were also embarrassed to have taken our guests there, and since that was their last evening with us, we couldn't make up for it or show them Cajun food as we would've liked.

I've been going to Don's since I was a child and have rarely been disappointed in their cuisine. The seafood gumbo, made with a dark roux base, is to die for and their craw-fish bisque the best in the city. Family friendly, Cajun casual and moderat ...

Some of the best food around. Everything was delicious. I had the BBQ Shrimp this time and was surprised at how good it was. Far and above most of the other places.

I wasn't planning to write a review on Don's 'til I saw the existing review. I am not disputing the reviewers personal experience but I have had so many positive experiences there. The food is fresh, tasty and presented appropriately for the type of ...

I had a great experience at this hole-in-the-wall type of place, although hard to find, it was well worth the effort. Great food, friendly service, and a nice rustic feel with the decor

The wait time is TOO long. The food is good, but be prepared for AT LEAST a 45 minute wait time. There are other quality restaurants that don't have this wait time. Be patient if you want it!
