I've been going to Don's since I was a child and have rarely been disappointed in their cuisine. The seafood gumbo, made with a dark roux base, is to die for and their craw-fish bisque the best in the city. Family friendly, Cajun casual and moderately priced, Don's is a favorite with my family. Just wish, like others, they would open a location in South Baton Rouge.

I wasn't planning to write a review on Don's 'til I saw the existing review. I am not disputing the reviewers personal experience but I have had so many positive experiences there. The food is fresh, tasty and presented appropriately for the type of restaurant that it is.
I do have complaints - it is hard to find a parking place sometimes because so many of their regulars have taken them! They have customers that first came there with their parents and grandparents! I am a newcomer since I have only been going to Don's since 1976. However, my children and grandchildren have eaten there - and liked it.

One of the best dinning experiences I've had! The service was great! The quality of the fish could stand a little improving. The steaks compare with the best.

I had a great experience at this hole-in-the-wall type of place, although hard to find, it was well worth the effort. Great food, friendly service, and a nice rustic feel with the decor

Some of the best food around. Everything was delicious. I had the BBQ Shrimp this time and was surprised at how good it was. Far and above most of the other places.

I beleive that the resturant could do a much better job with is food presentation. Also, the way the talk about their speciels in the menu , would tend to make you think that they woyuld be wonderful but, in turn they are just ghastly. They should also work on their restroom clealiness, well..just overall cleanliness. That is why I am writting this reveiw.

We absolutely LOVE Don's!!!! The food was spectacular.....we ate crawfish & hushpuppies, corn, etc., and it was all delicious......I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience authentic deep south crawfish boils and the wonderful taste and experience of a true southern meal. Just be careful, the hushpuppies are completely addicting!
