Restaurant Description

Zabroso Restaurant features Latin American, Spanish and French-inspired cuisine created by owner and chef Ruben Lopez. After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in 1999, Ruben worked in restaurants throughout New York and Connecticut, including La Panetiere and Bernard's, both NY Times-rated three-star restaurants. Most recently, Ruben was at the Turning Stone Resort where he started as Sous Chef in Wildflowers at the Lodge. After two months, he was promoted to Chef de Cuisine for Churrascari Rodizio and helped open the restaurant in 2005 before serving as Chef de Cuisine for the Forest Grill Steakhouse.

"A hidden Gem in Oneida, NY aka The Mansion House"

After enjoying the food and service at a Christmas Party, we decided to try Zabroso's for their regular menu and what a great treat. We tried the Spanish Chorizo, Shrimp al Ajillo, Papas Bravas for two Tapas Sampler and it came with Spanish sausage, shrimp and some great potatoes, everything was spicy but not to hot to enjoy. I enjoyed their Caribbean Spiced Lamb Chops - cooked to perfection with my favorite carrots and green beans over some delectable tasting potatoes. My spouse had their Grilled Hawaiian Blue King Prawns over Linguini, which was also excellent. Portion sizes are nice, based on the Tapas and meal we took home food. Had room of course for Dessert which was a trio special- Chocolate Cake, their version of rice pudding and Flan(it was so good, my wife didn’t share) - Find out if they have their Rice pudding, not your typical version but yum, yum - suggested they add it to their regular menu. They also offer a fantastic TEA selection of TE TEAS. I normally have coffee but decided to have a hot cup of tea and I am glad I did.

Erica provided great service, we mentioned to her that we enjoyed the food from the Christmas party and decided to try their regular menu. Ruben the owner/Chef came out to say hello and welcome us back - thanking us for coming again.  This to me is a nice touch from an owner.

The Mansion is a nifty place and the restaurant is well decorated. Prices are within range. Worth driving down Sherrill Road but turn off at Skinner Road.

Heads up - Call ahead for reservations and to verify they are open, Dress is business casual.
