A diner from Richmond, TX
Jun 12, 2010
I am going to say this first.. my fiancee and I have both worked in restaurants so we both know what its like coming from both sides....OK..My fiancee and I came in to the Yucatan Mexican Grill for early dinner but it ended up being a very uncomfortable experience for us. Well... being that we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time it sure took a while for our waiter to come around to take our order. We ordered the guacamole to start off with and my fiancee tasted it and said the avocados were sour and over-rippen. I noticed that myself. So when the waiter came back after dissapearing again, I explained the problem.. The manager came out to tell us that he just made the guacamole and that it is fine. But my fiancee and I told him that its the avocado and it tastes over-rippened and sour.. He insisted that he was correct so my fiancee said just take it away and we will still pay for it just to leave us at peace. So our food came out and we ate.. and waited another really long while for our check in which another waitress finally walked pass and I asked her for our waiter.. She went and got him but it baffles me that we are the only ones in the restaurant so how is it so hard to get good service?? Even the cashier person was just sitting there staring off into space and she did look over at us a couple times as I was looking all around for help but she did nothing. The manager came back a second time and was being semi-friendly this time and I couldn't understand why when he first approached us he was wearing an eye patch, like he was trying to intimidate us.. but this time he had no eye patch which is odd and my fiancee said he was weird. I am not sure what is going on with the staff there but they could use some better training.. Oh.. did I mention the flies that kept trying to land on our food?? OK I'm done talking about this place... I hope this restaurant will read this review and think twice about how they are making the customers feel.
