I didn't put a star on Ambience, value, or experience solely because this "NY Deli" didn't warrant even a 1/2 star in any category. I went here hoping for something similar to a NY Deli sandwich, what I got was bordering on the surreal. A saturday evening after black friday and the 6 person staff is standing around bored to death watching the other to patrons eat there food. I sat anyway. Nice decor, but I couldn't figure what they were trying for, a deli... a diner... a restaurant?!?! Neither was working. Good looking food spread all over the place under sneeze gaurd's, I can only guess how long the stuff had been sitting out untouched; Likely days. My partner and I ordered a hot pastrami, and a roast beef "Deli sandwich". Wolfies logo is, "Where a sandwich is more than just a sandwich... its a meal". At $7.50 each I didn't expect much, what I got was alot less. Four thin slices of Pastrami on rye, with putrid, cole slaw and a limp pickle. I was offered 'fries' but declined for the traditional chips. I was given a choice of bagged Dorito's and Wise salt and vinegar. Huh? Bsg chips, no Deli chip's??? "Sorry Sir". Lucky me, I found I would have been charged extra for either that or the fries I didn't ask for. To my partner, "Would you like anything on your Roast Beef?" Luckily not as the gravy for her four thin slices would've costed another dollar. I was truly speechless, thought I did eventually find my voice and asked for a manager. No such thing. No big deal, I'll eat this snack and get something over at Papa Johns. I did ask for the owners name so that I could call later. I was then offered to talk to the owner, Susan on the phone. I was kindly informed about how wrong I was, and that if had spent $4 more dollars I would have got a huge sandwich, and that Katz' and the Carnegie Deli charge alot more. After a 5 minute conversation, they couldn't grasp that a very dissatisfied customer was feeling scammed. I didn't want a refund or a real sandwich, just maybe an apology, even an insincere one. Even the staff couldn't be bothered acting concerned. I tipped but not much. It's not their fault, I'm sure they're just assuming the attitude instilled by the owners. I actually apologized to them for the trouble of my displeasure. I'm that kind of guy. I can't see how they're in business unless it's a front for something else. So if you want to drop $20+ on whats at best a small, though tasty appetizer for 2, feel free. The Town and Country diner west on 37 will give you a good meal of similar or better quality at half the cost.
