Wixom Restaurant Guide

The town of Wixom has its first upscale restaurant,and it is notable in many ways,from its handsome decor and correct service to its creative Italian menu. The Grossi family seems to have done everything right in taking over an anonymous new building and lavishing it with wood work,parquet floors,venetian plastered walls in a copery shade,plush upholstery and a big kitchen where Dino Grossi, who cooked in Italy with master chefs,turns out made-from-scratch fare. The menu is just the right length,with several pasta dishes,typified by Penne with Prosciutto,peas truffle butter and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese and veal stuffed ravioli in butter sage and shaved porcini mushrooms, as well as three seafood and just eight meat selections. Since opening in November of 2004 it has been drawing enthusiastic crowds that appreciate quality. It is ambitious,but not pretentious.
