Italian Food & Culture History

Restaurant Description

VinoRosso is a small, Italian wine bar. Chef/Owners Giuseppe Manna, from Rome, Italy & wife Vega Freeman-Brady, from Berkeley, California, have focused on a selection of more than 70 fine Italian and Californian wines, most of them available by the glass, rotating weekly - including Amarone, Brunello and Barbaresco. Our philosophy is to encourage people to try the many interesting, unique, indigenous wines of Italy, some of which are rarely poured by the glass elsewhere.

We serve fresh, authentic, homemade regional Italian dishes - including small plates, salads, pasta al forno, homemade lasagna, cheese and salumi platters and homemade desserts. All of our ingredients are fresh, organic, sustainable and homegrown whenever possible. The menu and wine list change weekly. Every Thursday a new regional Italian dish is introduced for the weekend. See the events page for other weekly or upcoming events.

This is the most AMAZING restaurant. I went there and the mood was so romantic my boyfriend told me he loved me for the first time there. This was 4 years ago and I still can't forget the ambiance. Truly special.

Italian comfort food at best. Great for groups. Pastas, fish, meat course all reasonably priced with hearty generous portion. Service is always professional and friendly. It is not touristy! They are all for fresh local produce :)
