Fresh squeezed juices enliven an extensive selection of champagne libations, and in the evening Via de Mille will revive the often-overlooked dessert cocktail with creative and impressive options.To create the perfect ambience in which to indulge in true epicurean delight, Tuosto and Mullineau turned to Mark Dizon of the Dizon Collection, who transformed the charming West Broadway storefront, combining the simplicity of many of the restaurants found throughout Italy today with the sophisticated and somewhat eclectic style of the diverse Mediterranean coast. Italian marble, distressed wood details, antique mirrors, and Venetian-style chandeliers distinguish the 75-seat space, which includes banquette, table and bar seating.The space is further characterized by the original paintings of local artists whose work will be featured gallery-style on a rotating basis and available for sale. Via dei Mille opened to the public with the paintings of its first featured artist, Song Hanseok, who is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia; the nation's oldest school of art. A mélange of fine cuisine, comfortable style and artistic flair, Via dei Mille embodies the Italian panache by which it was inspired, and provides the neighborhood with a welcoming place to dine, imbibe and socialize.
