Vera's WAS the best of this area before Katrina. A laid back place to enjoy the local best. We do hope they come back!

A diner from Slidell

I've eaten at Vera's twice, if you are fortunate enough to be seated in the back room it isn't a bad place to be, waterfront on Lake Ponchartrain. But the front dining room is congested, There are better seafood options, you expect a bit ramshackle but the long wait ,was not justified by the quality of the food.

I go to Sililys in Harvey. The atmosphere is horrible. Kids run and scream. Parents and the management allow it. I realize it is a family restaurant but so is Shoney's and CiCi's and you don't have the circus that th
