Established in 1976, when Umberto and Angela Annunziata came to Poughkeepsie from the Bronx and opened a small pizza parlor with four tables, Umberto's of Mamma Marisa has grown steadily to include seating for over 250, even as it has continued to offer the Poughkeepsie area its most delicious full menu of great Italian-American cuisine.

Head Chef Alberto Annunziata combines fresh ingredients with a rare culinary flair, creating fine and original examples of contemporary Italian-American cuisine. From his start as a six year old boy following his father Umberto around the kitchen, Chef Alberto's talents have only blossomed with time and experience.

And now as a graduate of the prestigious Culinary Institute of America, Chef Alberto brings his top level talents to all the sophisticated and delicious culinary masterworks he prepares at Umberto's. His specialties include all the classic Italian dishes you expect, but also beautiful pastas, such as Tortellini con Pesto e Panno, and dishes such as Chicken Umberto, Veal Angelina, Vitello Sorrentino and many, many more. At Umberto's, we even prepare classic American dishes with imported ingredients!

And the desserts? Perfectly delectable and prepared fresh on-premises! And we top it all off with an extensive selection of fine wines!! No wonder Umberto's of Mamma Marisa's fine cuisine has been rated Four Stars by Poughkeepsie Journal reviewer, Brenda Buchbinder Sachs!
