The Stern House is under new ownership and has been pleasantly remodeled and turned into a crab house....Blue crabs finally are available here in Stuart....Great new menu, live entertainment, and service....This will be one of Port Salerno's new Hot Spots!!!!

Always new chef and bartender. The owner can't seem to keep good help. For two years we've gone off and on and he got rid of the two best girls that he's had since I found the place. Who knows why?! Not the cleanest place I've been to either(smells like stale beer and mold, bathrooms are disgusting) and I've left there more than queasy on more than one occasion after eating the chicken and seafood. Specials are always the same and so are the sides. It got very boring, and with the way the place is going down hill I probably won't be back. Go to the Jensen Ale House if you want Maine Lobster, or pay a little more and hit New England Seafood. We eat out constantly and there are too many choices around for the past few less than pleasurable experiences at the Stern.
A recent reviewer wrote that the owner was unpleasant to the customers. I found that to be true also but am pleased to report that the cafe has now been sold. I have not been there in 3 years but returned recently because it had new owner --- WONDE

Scallops were done to perfection, but the crab cakes were way over done. My friends daughter had to return her steak 2 times. Way under cooked. A bit over priced for little downtown Stuart. The others in our group enjoyed the fish (bass). Would we go

..the stern house was a pleasant surprise, great value, and great music..my scallops were cooked perfectly, and my server was friendly, and efficent..definitly a place to visit..great cape cod cooking, and maine lobster specials too.!!
