Welcome to Tegeste Ethiopian Restaurant, serving up the best Ethiopian and Etrian cuisine the district has to offer. Tegest Ketaw, brings her years of culinary expertise and desire to exceed customers' expectation to the Columbia Heights area. Using only the freshest ingredients and choice meats in their made fresh to order dishes, Tegeste's cuisine rivals even that of its most well known competitors. Its tasty foods have been developed by ingredients indicative of its culture into wonderful sauces for the meat and vegetable stews eaten with a crepe-like bread called "injera" made from the grain teff. The food is ideal for vegan eaters as many people from Ethiopia fast, avoiding meat and dairy. There's live entertainment, and outside dining weather permitting. Dual levels are available for your dining pleasure. The main level has a bar and television and is perfect for a romantic dinner for two or small gathering for family or friends. The second level is perfect for private parties or special occasions of up to 20 guests. Tegeste is also available to cater your next special event. Call for details.
