A tandoor is a cylindrical oven used in north of India and Pakistan of the Punjab region. The food is cooked over hot charcoal fire, reaching a temperature 480c (900 Fahrenheit). It is common for tandoor to remain hot for a long period of time to maintain the high cooking temperature. Food cooked in a tandoor retains all the juices and taste inside and is considered to be very healthy.
