Suraj opened back in 1997, and was an instant success. As the years rolled by, and word of their success grew, residents of the South Bay suggested to Suraj management that they open another location in south bay. So, by popular demand, in 2008 Suraj management opened a second location in Milpitas. This restaurant is conveniently located inside the Best Western Hotel at the intersection of freeways 880 and 237. Suraj restaurant has a full bar and banquet facility.

Suraj restaurant offers mouth-watering delicacies from both north and south of India, a perfect blend of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes that encompass all of India.

Suraj offers daily buffet lunch, Suraj offers a very elegant "All you can eat" Buffet served daily. This fabulous Buffet is an excellent value, in addition over 130 items from the a la carte menu including a variety of Dosas and Tandoori Chicken. Some of the best dishes are Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken 65, Chilly Chicken, Lamb Curry, Utthapam, Sag paneer, Hyderabadi Dum Biryani and Mirchi Ka Salan.
