We just got home from a terrible evening at Snappers. We have been to Snappers many times in the past and the meals have been relatively consistent and adequate. But tonight was a major problem. We ordered our food which included soup. Unfortunately, when my teen-age daughter received her clam chowder, stuck to the back of her spoon, which came placed in the bowl of soup, had a portion of a Splenda label. Of course, no one knew how the label got there and the possibility that it was someone else's table trash crossed our minds. The waitress, Candice, was very nice when called over, but we asked to speak with the manager. The manager arrived, failed to introduce herself and instead her first words were "the waitress said you wanted to speak to me". Anyway, it went further downhill from there with the manager unable to adequately communicate or resolve the issue. We had to explain that an appropriate manner to deal with the situation would have been to comp the kid's dinner, but she just couldn't figure it out. After my wife made fairly aggressive attempts to get her point across, I tried being the good cop but the manager just couldn't deal with it. The kicker was the owner couldn't deal with the issue either and failed to comprehend the gravity into which the situation had snowballed. After explaining in the nicest way possible how inappropriately they had handled the situation and how it more easily could have been avoided just by having the manager present herself in a more formal manner, I explained how powerful negative comments can destroy a restaurant's reputation and lead to its collapse in a very short time. I am therefore taking this opportunity to use the internet to warn savvy customers away from Snappers seafood restaurant. Your hard earned money is well spent at an establishment where you can at least expect appropriate behaviors from the managers and especially the owners. Join me in sending this place a message and never go there again.

Terrible seafood! My husband and I went to dinner on Dec. 16th. We had eaten at this restaurant some years ago and I still remembered the wonderful meal. I had a large grilled snapper fillet with a side of cut-up fresh vegetables and great garlic rolls.
We ordered drinks and started off with an order of zucchini sticks sprinkled with Parmesan cheese for $5.95 and it was excellent.
The only snapper on the menu was “Snapper Vera Cruz” baked with a topping of “kalamata olives, capers, plum tomatoes and extra-virgin olive oil” and I ordered this and choose the “garden fresh vegetable” as my side.
My husband ordered the “Shrimply Delicious Combo” for $18.95 which was a combination of baked stuffed shrimp, Shrimp scampi, Cajun shrimp and Coconut & Almond shrimp.
The rolls that came first were awful They were white rolls which looked as if they had been dipped in oil and sprinkled with garlic but they had no garlic taste. Even my husband, a true bread and garlic lover, could not eat them.
My snapper came as a small square thin fillet with a sparse covering of what appeared to be diced canned tomatoes and a scant sprinkling of olives and capers. I took one bite of the fish without the topping and it was so salty, it was inedible. The accompanying vegetable was an unseasoned chunk of broccoli which the cook had not even bothered to cut into pieces. I called to manager to complain and she brushed off the complaint and suggested I have the cedar planked halibut at the same price. She said it was the house specialty.
My husband, who will happily eat almost anything, said his shrimp all tasted the same and none were tasty but he declined to complain or order anything else.
I agreed to have the halibut. It was thick and meaty and tasteless. (Did the cook ever hear of spices and seasonings?). The broccoli had been cut up but was still unseasoned. I took the halibut home and the next day I cooked up some diced tomatoes, canned quartered artichokes, fresh sliced mushrooms and onions and put this over the halibut for a delicious meal. Oh—I should mention that I used seasonings.
We've told all our friends to avoid this restaurant and now I'm telling you.

It doesn't get any better that this! Service is great - food is excellent and portions are too large! Wine list is first class and very reasonable.
Looks like some people should stay home!!!

Pretty good service, food is excellent and very fresh. Prices are pretty good, especially for lunch(unless you are looking for King Crab, heh) and on all drinks which are very big. Great wine list with GREAT prices.

We live in the area and eat there 3 -4 times a month and find the service is very good, just once they brought the entree before we finished our salad - but that has never happened again. the Halibut is always cooked well, and the cedar plank has to hang over the plate in order to be steady. I have found that, in every restaurant that serves planked fish. I would say the guests from Canada happened to have had a bad experience. According to the long lines of people waiting -- it certainly can't be that bad. they deserve another chance. The food is good and servers are friendly. The owner is almost always there, and they should have complained to him.

convenient location. with the exception of haliburt on the plank, the menu is boring fare. the salads are skimpy. plenty of garlic bread.service is ok. noisy atmosphere.owner is on the premises, which is good.service is fair to good.a solid overpriced diner.

What a waste of money! You pay high prices so that you can get fish drowned in butter. The cedar plank my halibut arrived on was much larger than my plate, and had slivers of cedar on the fish. Yuck! The jambalaya had kielbossa sausage in it and whole crayfish that were inedible. The eyes of the dead crayfish, put our young diner right off the meal. The steak ordered by our landlubber guest should have come with squash, but three huge stalks of broccoli arrived instead. The King Crab was so expensive, I gulped at the price when my daughter ordered it.
The service was a huge problem as well. Not only did we have problems with our order, she did not offer us coffee or dessert, and they were cleaning the floor all around us. This was at 10pm!
But the topper was the reaction another server had to the dollar tip she received -"just a dollar - that c***" plenty loud enough for us to hear.
Don't go -ever.
