Augusta Restaurant Guide

I now live in Mississippi. When ever I return I bring an empty cooler just to fill with Sconyers to take home. Sconyers has the BEST BBQ in the south. I have lived and eaten BBQ in NC, TN, and FL. Bar none Sconyers is the best I have ever had and I to wish you had a Mail Order service. To tell you how long I have been coming to Sconyers, my uncle "Big Jon" - Johnny McLeod, would bring me along to stand in the gravel lot when you had the small trailer on Hwy 25 in the 60's. I lived in Augusta for 16 years and dining at Sconyers was always a treat. Well, I now live in Pensacola, Florida and when I do visit Augusta, I always go back to Sconyers and take some on the plane with me. I sure wish you would have online ordering so I can have it shipped to my house all the time.

I eat at Sconyers at least once a month, sometimes once a week. The food is excellent, the service is great! The restaurant and the grounds surrounding it are beautiful as well.

I was stationed at Fort Gordon for two years and spent a lot of time at Sconyers. The Barbeque was bar none, the best I had ever eaten. Service and care for the quality of the meal was astounding.

After finishing a large meal to the last drop of sauce, the waitress asked how the meal was. I said great, but not quite as good as others I had enjoyed there. They put another entire meal together and requested that I take it home with their apology. I said it was unnecessary as the meal was better than any other around. They wouldn't take no for an answer. Fabulous food, monster portions and good prices. I still drive up from Tampa once a year for a meal.
