what a friendly group of people, they really make you feel welcome, like they are glad you are there. They don't blast rock music throughout the restaurant. It is a nice atmosphere. There is music, but it doesn't dominate the dining room. This is a well-run location and I enjoy coming here

A great neighborhood Tex-Mex restaurant. Food was served promptly, hot, and with a smile. Cheese and beef enchiladas were served with a slightly spicy ranchero sauce, and chicken enchiladas were served with a delicate sour cream sauce. Great guacamole and green chili sauce. Homemade pralines are a m...

Once in a while we eat here and it always has a good atmosphere and overall very clean, the Texas decoration is excellent... with pretty murals, amiable personnel, specially Jose. I give this restaurant a "10"
IF you are from the south, or are a tansplant Then you will oove this cozy litte resturant. Located in the Heart of Roanoke, you will find Babes Chicken Dinner House. Even thought you have 2 choices (chicken or chicken fried steak) you save a boat load. at around $10 per a person including drinks, d...
Great family style food, lots of fun, and really nice people. The building is old, chairs and tables old, but the food is great!!! Great ambience and service, and the people are really friendly. Never had a bad experience in at least 6 visits to the restaurant.

Wait Staff/Servers not so friendly, seemed bothered to do their job. Believe me, I do not like to make complaints and I wasn't having a bad day, either! But too much tension in the air, will not go back again!
Consistenly consistent. Decent place to get your TexMex "fix". Good chips/salsa. Food could be "re-vamped" or sauced up a little more, but overall, a decent place to eat some TexMex. Lunch-quality calibur rather than an "out-to-dinner" place.
Some of the best Mexican food in Garland. Order the TopShelf Guacamole. Two people I know who have never liked guacamole like the TopShelf Guacamole at El Chico.

Food is generally good but not as consistent as I would like. Enchiladas were above average but tacos have been a little bland. More of a neighborhood Tex-Mex place - not the usual chain.
Best chicken fried steak or fried chicken any southerner could hope for.
