My husband and I have decided that the Gas Lantern has the best food and atmosphere of any place that we have ever been.
I got very sick from their buffet a couple of times. And I saw something that resmbles sexual harrassment on a couple of occaisions.

We had eaten at Golden rule several times and always had a decent time, but recently we went and it was just plain horrible. Our salads came after our meal was served and then they forgot my salad. My husband's meat was burnt and dry and my food was cold. Overall not a good night for us.
Any place that serves rotten meat to a customer should be very apologetic. That was not the responce we got. Instead the manager said "I did not see the steak." Needless to say when we discovered that my 4 year Grandsons steak was rotten we all stopped eatting. All that was done was the price of ...
Same thing happened to us, a rare ordered steak was scorched, dried out and inedible. But then no one asked us.

We probably have eaten everything on the menu for two years, Thank you Golden Rule staff and managers!
At first glance their prices seem too high. When your order arrives, you change your mind fast!! The quality of their food is excellent(1 exception- the Baked Beans taste like crap)and the size of the portions is good: be prepared to take home quite a lot.
Kudos to the staff, we ate at the restaurant last night and it was fantastick, my steak was the best steak i have had in a very long time!
The ribs for my husband was out of this world!

Steaks totally awesome, sirloin melted in my mouth like butter. Their sweet bbq sauce was excellent for dipping but the meat was great all by it'self. Biggest baked potatoe I've eaten in a long time. Wait staff very sweet and attentive. Great family experience.

Their food is delicious, and huge servings, their sports oriented atmosphere is very cool, the waitresses are very friendly, and their special event nights are a joy to be at.
