I went to this restaurant once in March and once in April. The food was fantastic. Unfortnately something has gone terribly wrong. We went a few days ago and the food was horrible.

yummy food. when i usually go out to eat, i have one item i always order "just to be safe" but here i like so many things on the menu i have a hard time deciding. their spin/art dip is the best in slidell!! and i always have a togo box since their portions are so generous
Food is very good.
I always enjoy going except there is almost always a strong odor, I believe from whatever they use to clean the floor and tables. Some times very strong.
Go here quite often and love the food. Hot and fresh. Anything you get here you will be pleased with. The atmosphere is terrific and the service is great.
I've eaten at Vera's twice, if you are fortunate enough to be seated in the back room it isn't a bad place to be, waterfront on Lake Ponchartrain. But the front dining room is congested, There are better seafood options, you expect a bit ramshackle but the long wait ,was not justified by the quality...
Vera's WAS the best of this area before Katrina. A laid back place to enjoy the local best. We do hope they come back!
