I've been to Legends twice. It is a dance/music/bar in Bloomington and as such not the most comfortable for either children or conversation. The tables are a bit too close for my taste and the food very average. Prices were fairly average too so if you go to watch the strippers or a band, you won...
This place is completely over-rated. The food is not nearly what it should be for the price. Visited twice and was very disappointed both times.
Healthy, this food is not. A good meal for a very low price. I find it best to get take-out though, the seating is the same as all other LJS. Quick, cheap lunch or a "treat" from your diet when you just crave all that fried stuff.
After remodeling, this is a lot more open and less noisy. The food is reasonable for the price, the service a bit frayed at times, especially over the lunch hour rush. A nice place to stop if you are in the mall anyway.
Nice big sandwiches for the price. Needs a bit more selection and I don't particularly like the default sides that come with the sandwich. Can be very crowded and the setting varied between fairly initimate boothes or communal picnic tables. Don't go during the lunch rush, please, if you need to...
About the same price as a Bishop's Buffet but the food is not as good nor is the selection as wide. An ok place to stop if one is in the mall or with several picky eaters. It is a cafeteria though so watch those prices of the plates you put on your tray.
Since moving to Bloomington after 7 years in Japan, I have tried every Japanese restaurant in Bloomington and found Mikado to be by far the most authentic and the best. We had a full dinner-- both sushi and traditional dishes to share. Eggplant, Horenso (spinach) and nigiri were all fresh and proper...
Mother Bear's pizza is rather unique in Bloomington. The sauce is sweet and dabbed on the top of the pizza as well as under the cheese. You can get a big square slice and a soda for a very very reseasonable price. A great value and place to stop for lunch during the day if you wait until after 1P...
The service is excellent at one of the main "alumni" spots in Bloomington. In summer you can eat out on the small patio. Groups can reserve the "Little 500 Room" or an area sat a bit off to one side by itself for parties of around 8 to 10 people. Food is simple dinner food, focusing on sandwiches....
Busy all the time, this favorite spot for alumni is loud and not very child friendly. But the choice of food is surprising wide and the price reasonable for the most part (I think those cheese sticks are too small). There is a lot more seating and tables than you can see when you first walk in, th...
Pretty much like any Poderosa you've been too. A bit smaller than others I've been in, there is now this bar area that you can buy or get with a meal. I'm not much for steak, but the chicken is good and the food on the bar is fine as well. Also have chocolate ice cream which for some of us is ver...
The muffins and desserts are a delight -- priced reasonably too. Breakfast there was fine but a very limited menu overall. Good for a snack or evening dessert to chat during with friends. Outside, up-stairs, and downstairs dining areas allow one to spread out a bit.
You'd think that in a college town, there would be restaurants open all night, especially one which say they are around the nation. This Stake & Shake is open in Bloomington fairly late though not 24 hours a day. The food is average, the price average, it is nice to be waited on but at times the s...
The selection of Asian and Middle Eastern food here is great. They also sell hookah supplies and some handcrafted items. Best hummus I've ever had. And everyone who works there is super nice!?
Tuesdays lunch time brings the 99 cent soft shell taco and the crowds to Tortilla Flat. The food is good, more authentic than say a Chi Chi's. The rood and furniture however is shaky -- literally my chair shook while I ate -- it seems pulled together from garage sales. The staff was quick and ans...
Loved the lunch items. Nice (large) servings and very tasty. God value.
The Trojan Horse does serve Greek food, along with burgers, and omelets (one of the few places in town to get one at any time). I find the most annoying aspects of this place to be the fact that it is expensive -- fries are not included with anything, nothing is included with anything and thus you ...
This elegantly decorated room now serves as a lunchtime buffet during the week and a Sunday brunch buffet on weekends. The price therefore is fixed, for about $7.50 you can eat fine pasta, meat, salads, vegetables both cold and hot, an assortment of breads, and a selection of desserts along with a s...
This place tries soooo hard to be soooo cool. The pre packaged over microwaved, over priced food. hipper than you waitstaff and dirty bathrooms were enough to make me never go back to this place.
