I eat here 3x's week. I compair it to a low key Max-A-Mia's. The chef is creative,the service is good and the food is always fresh.
I bought a french bagette, a loaf of rye bread , and a roast beef sandwich at the First and Last Deli last week and I will never go back again. Both breads I bought tasted like two day old bread (stale) and heavy on the salt. The roast beef was too well done, stale bread (again), veggies non- exsist...
Have gone a few times...pastries are spectacular...almond croissants are to die for..best in ct as good or better than ny....seems as though they went through a transition with their bread but the last time i bought a pumpernickel and rye and they were great...wish they had a bakery in west hartford...
Just came back from the Plainville one.Save your $$ & go to a pizza place if you crave a pasta dinner ,it will cost you 1/3 of the $$ and will taste better.Wil not be going back.No salad with your $13.00 pasta dinner?What kind of crap is that?? Meatballs suck!
Dont Bother with this place! My girlfriend and I wanted a quick bite on a Thursday night, went to Plainville First and Last. Should have known when the place was more than half empty. You have to have the shrimp scampi pizza. It is a little pricey, but well worth it. I travel from Stratford to Hartford (60 miles) just for one of these pies. Next time up there, I'll take one home to freeze.
A great restaurant, with a great atmosphere. The spaghetti sauce is the best that I have ever had. The pizzas are outstanding as well. This restaurant is a Hartford landmark, as well as an asset to the south end of Hartford. Good job.
I ate most of my life in this restaurant starting with when it was a tiny little place where they cooked pasta behind the bar on a hot plate! Their sauce is the best there is. Wish I still lived in Ct. so I could go there more than once or twice a year!
I'm a HUGE fan of Francesco's. It's by far my favorite Italian food in Hartford!

well how can I find anything possitive to say about a resturant the serve me hominy porage with rat droppings in it. the worst part is when i called them they say it came from the eye of the corn. really never ever has hominy corn ever have black "eye" that look like rat dropping.
Pretty good food for the money you pay. This was our first time eating Caribbean cuisine & must say we liked it. Especially the Goat curry & Jerk chicken.
