In my 56 years, the one thing I have never been accused of is not being Italian. I am first generation American, and so you do not have to look that up, it means that both my parents are from Italy and came to America in the 20's and 30's, not generations ago. As far as never steeping foot into a restaurant in Italy, I guess I must of starved for the six years I lived in Italy.
My review of the Olive Garden was to compare it to all the other Italian restaurant choices here in Lincoln, NE and not a comparison of worldwide cuisine. If you would like to discuss the finest restaurants in Italy/Sicily then that is a different mater. I stand by my original review, Olive Garden gives you the best values and best taste in Lincoln for Italian food.

Dear [email protected],
Just because your ancestors immigrated from Italy to New York/New Jersey several generations ago, in fact does not make you Italian. If you call Olive Garden's food genuine or legit Italian food in pretty much any sense, you've clearly never set foot in any restaurant in Italia. Sure, Olive Garden's food may be "Italian style", but anyone who has actually lived or even visited Italy will tell you that it is far from authentic. Olive Garden, Valentino's, Grisanti's, and the like are all VERY TASTY....but not legit Italian food. It is simply Americanized Italian.

Valentinos is Nebraska's most famous and dear pizza place, and is a chain across the state. Their take-out and made-to-order pizza is fabulous, as is their new by-the-slice lunch option. However, their buffet pizza is not as tasty as the made-to-or ...

I'm Italian, born and raised in Brooklyn, NY (36 years). After moving to Nebraska I missed good Italian food. I love everything else about Nebraska but after visiting Valentino's and having the worst Italian food ever, I knew I was in trouble.
Then we tried Olive Garden after seeing ads regarding Tuscan dishes. For a chain, it's really the best out here. And yes, we've tried all the other "Italian" places here in Lincoln. All of them wouldn't last a week in a large city like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago. Lincoln is the best place I've ever lived ( for the past 3 years), and I think it should have quality food for the residents. The folks living here in Lincoln have sophisticated enough tastes to appreciate it. And, we are the Capital of Nebraska!
