Old Chicago

Yesterday after our Granddaughters graduation from University of Nebraska, she chose for us to eat lunch at Old Chicago in South Pointe shopping center here in Lincoln, Nebraska. Our other granddaughter was on furlough from the U.S. Navy and had come home for her sister's graduation. She loved Old Chicago and has several t-shirts from drinking beer. She has never been too much on eating at Old Chicago though. Now we all know why. The waitress took our order - 11 of us in all. She started with the Naval Granddaughter and worked her way around the tables that we had reserved. We got to your restaurant before any crowd arrived. Our food didn't come and didn't come. We had a 2 year old along and he was getting impatient. We thought the food would be worth the wait. Most of us had the hamburgers and fries, a large pizza and several hors-de-uers, not to mention several mugs of beer and pop. We were nearly done eating but our Naval Granddaughter had not received her food yet. A male waiter stopped to see if she had received her food yet and she said no. He said he would bring it right out. About 5 minutes later our original waitress asked if she had received her food yet and again she said no. She told us that she would bring it right out. Finally 10 minutes later, her food came. She told us that the order was all screwed up and apologized. I thought that probably there would be no charge for the granddaughters pizza rolls but there was. The bill came to almost $140. and was the worst food I ever had. I asked that my hamburger be well done as did my husband and son-in-law. My meat was rare. The blood was nearly running out of my husbands - which he did not eat.
Please be assured this was my first meal and probably my last meal. I always hear everyone talk about Old Chicago and was anxious to try it as was 4 others in our party. Now they are as disappointed as we were. We could have got twice the good for half the price at Valentino's. I guess we all learn a lesson. But if I don't tell you how bad it was, you will never know. My granddaughter that just graduated felt terrible that she had recommended you place to us. Your waitress was very nice and very polite. Our order was so bad that we felt sorry for her and did not want to complain and make a scene.
