My wife and I had dinner at Morelia Mexican Grill in Round Rock, Texas starting at 7:30 p.m., on Sunday, April 3, 2011 - We were promptly seated and served. We ordered tea and water, chicken and beef fajitas, and was promptly served. The service was excellent, as was the food, except for the tortillas. They were dry and crumbly. Could not wrap the fajita filling in them without them crumbling. Excellent place to eat. Clean, good atmosphere, great service and excellent food. Improve the tortilla and its a 5 star, or (10). We will go back.

The Morelia grill is the best Mexican restaurant have ever eaten in, if your focus is on food rather than atmosphere.. I am 66 years old and have lived in the Austin area over thirty years. I have eaten often in Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants all over TX, NM, CA and all over Mexico itself. In neighborhood spots, high end city restaurants, tourist meccas in resort areas, and famous family places. None come up to the quality, variety, and value of the food at Morelia Grill.

The restaurant building is undistinguished. You come in and step around a giant fountain to one of their 25 or so tables covered in plastic. You are immediately given fresh hot chips, a tasty red tomato salsa and a creamy avocado alternative dip.

Their menu is HUGE! There are dozens of dishes we have never seen before. There are also quail, a variety of seafood as well as the usual fajitas, moles, burritos, enchiladas, tacos, chimichangas etc. etc. We have eaten there about 15 times so far and usually order the dishes that we never see anywhere else.

Our particular favorite is Pollo Rio: two large boneless grilled chicken breasts topped with a pile of shrimp and a tangy cheese sauce It covers a big plate and is served with fresh made tortillas and all the usual fajita fixins including some excellent charro beans. The dish is also made with tilapia. There are about twenty other such esoteric dishes that come very close in deliciousness. We have never had anything there but a fabulous meal. The have guitar music on the weekends and always serve some very tangy $3 margaritas.

In Round Rock on the north side of Route 79 (aka Palm Valley) about one mile east of IH35.
