It seems that Miyamoto has quickly outgrown its small space and few employees. If you simply must have their sushi, we recommend you call ahead 2 hours before you want to eat, whether it's dine-in or take-out.

We were delighted to have Miyamoto in our neighborhood, and have been ordering regularly since it opened. At first, everything was wonderful. The last few experiences have been less than satisfactory, though. Since it's a small location, we usually call in our order ahead of time. One time we called in ahead to dine at the bar next door (the partnership makes the lack of space more tolerable). It took more than an hour to get our sushi after we arrived! We kept going to Miyamoto because we wanted to believe it was just an unusual incident, but this kind of thing has become more usual. Last night we called in our order at 4:50 because they said they'd take it before they officially opened at 5:00. We were told it would be ready at 5:20. We gave them a little cushion time and showed up at 5:30. We were told 15 more minutes. 6:00 rolled around and they finally handed over our order.

Miyamoto, we recommend you be more honest with yourselves and your customers about how long of a wait it will be. We know you're afraid of losing business if customers think it's too long of a wait, but being honest may actually help you keep business and even gain more. See, long waits usually mean great food, and people know that. We just don't want to be pissed off, especially when we're hungry and craving your delicious food.

Unbelievable that this was the same restaurant as a few years ago. First time back 1/12/10 in at least 4 years, but I'll be frequenting the place a good bit more now. A mountainous bento, and all of it delicious.
