I had never tried this restaurant before, but having just come home from a vacation where a family member took me to a fabulous Indian restaurant I decided on date night with my hubby to try Misal. THE BEST INDIAN FOOD!!! I could not stop saying how great every bite was. I tried my husband's also and liked his dish even more. We both had curry dishes. Needless to say, we will be frequenting this restaurant often. On the down side, the portion sizes could go up a smidgen, we were both content when we left, but a few more bites would have been appreciated. The prices were a little higher than we had expected also. We both had water to drink and no appetizers, it was more than $30 total including tip. Not bad, but not great either, and in this economy... Overall it tops my list of favorite restaurants!! Highly recommended.

I have no idea what these people are talking about. This place is the best in Norman for taking a date, or just getting some really healthy and tasty indian food. I have been to Misal many many times and i will continue to go. I have never experienced anyone being rude or trying to gip me like the other reviewer described. Nice atmosphere, really good green beans and curry. I am astounded that anyone would not like this place. It is a little expensive, but it is totally worth it for the occasional splurge. Try it, you will love it.
One of the best kept secrets in Norman, OK. Great food, always fresh, reasonably priced. Definitely worth the trip to the east side of town.
The menu includes assorted dishes offered as one meal (thali), so various items can be sampled for tho

The food is not authentic at all. The staff, including the owner was very rude and ignored us. They seated us and gave us the menu and left. After waiting 10-15 minutes, we had to go to the bar area to let some one know that we were ready to order. Then it took them another 50 minutes to bring us our food and this whole time we were ignored.

My husband and I used to be frequent diners at Misal. It was great when it was on Campus Corner, but when they moved "upscale" the attitude of the owners gradually changed, and the once simple but delicious food became less and less palatable. The prices are ridiculous for a very small serving of food. We spent $80 on takeout one night. Four dinner entrees and all we got were four small dollops of curry, plain rice, burnt "nan" (did they think we wouldn't notice?) and yogurt. Both my husband and I felt cheated and betrayed. We didn't go there again except one day to have a buffet lunch. The place was EMPTY. The owner's cousin was there, and he hovered over the buffet like it was filled with sacred jewels. He wanted to charge us by the ounce, rather than by the price displayed. We paid $24.00 for two small lunches and the food was really bad--rancid chicken, limp vegetables, and soggy bread. That was the end for us. We will not patronize them again. For what we paid we could have had a fabulous lunch anywhere else in town. From now on, that's what we shall do.
