Ok with regards to the first reviews I completely disagree all the food is made in house and from scratch. While the food may not be as delicate as some of the higher level Italian places out there (I have been to some very high end places) but, there food is traditional Italian food that would be made at home. If you want over the top food that blows your mind go to a high end place and drop the $$$$ to get it do it. If not do not comment about a little mom and pop place that makes home style food that is good and comes in huge portions this is your place.

I have been eating at Mamma's regularly for 4 years now, and I must disagree with the other 2 reviewers. Most of the pastas are made on-site, fresh, daily, as are the sauces. For the price (no entree on the menu is over $11.00) - this is great, homemade food. Not fancy, for sure, just really, homestyle, Mamma's-made Italian food. After eating here regularly for years, I can highly recommend: Chicken/Veal Marsala, Chicken Parm, any of the pasta dishes, except the Penne (not homemade), and the Canelloni/Tortellini are frozen. Stick to the lasagna, made in house (HUGE portion, great taste) - and the linguini, fetuccini and spaghetti. This is one of my favorite SIMPLE Italian food restaurants in the city. If you're looking for a gourmet or romantic experience, I would go elsewhere, but for a nice night out with a group of friends with large portions, great prices, and good food, Mamma's is awesome. Say hello to Bruno (the owner, you can't miss him, he has a mustache, and usually is the host/greeter), and tell him Elvis sent you :)

The service was great but the food was not impressive. We had the gnocchi which appeared to be from a frozen package. We also had the cheese cannelloni which was cold in the centre, the cheese filling had an odd texture, obviously from frozen. Would not eat here again. This is not authentic Italian food.

The food was very blah. This guys that seems like either the manager or owner is always in your face and seems very fake. This isn't the first time I've been there, but I think it will be the last. The constant ringing of the bell is very bothersome. But like I said the food is not the greatest and not authentic Italian, as they advertise.
The service was rushed and the waitresses are not easy to look at, sorry girls.
